Gem Silica

Chalcedony colored by traces/inclusions of chrysocolla. Sometimes contains malachite/cuprite/sagenite inclusions. The more intense the colo and transulcency, the higher in value, the best going for $100 or more per carat. Mostly found in Arizona and Peru. An interesting quality of gem silica, is the blue material looks blue head on, but green with transmitted light. Very little new, high quality material comes out of Arizona now. More correctly called Chrysocolla Chalcedony.
