Chrysopraseplease note..page/site under construction...product info not totally accurate yet..Chrysoprase is a form of chalcedony colored by nickel. The finest Chryoprase is generally found in Australia, and is a deep apple green, sometimes having an almost bluish hue (Old stock Marlborough). It is also found in Africa and S. America. Much of the best material currently mined is being used as a substitute for jade in China, such that the majority of the material on the jewelry market today is often full of pits and inclusions. The best chrysoprase has a translucent quality with strong, even color and is free from inclusions/pits. |
