I've been a life-long rockhound, always pickin g up stones and dragging them home with me.....Back in the 1980's, I finally began to do more with them than just collect...I began to cut stones. A year or so earlier, I began my primary work, that of designing and creating unique, filigree jewelry, wire by wire. You can see my work at my jewelry site, jeannius.com.

Over the years, I've collected far more rough than I could probably cut in the next 40 years! Some, I have from my years living in Norway, such as Thulite, and others, I've picked up over the years. I'm partial to unusual, "old stock" materials that you otherwise don't see very often. I've always had an ability to 'find' things, and that seems to have worked to my advantage, turning up materials such as high grade Gem Silica Chalcedony, old stock Chrysoprase, Death Valley Plume Agate, Blue/Green Peruvian Opal and many other goodies.

So, now that I have more stones than I could comfortably set in many years, I have decided to share my good fortune at finding things and make some of these unusual stones available to other designers. Many of my stones are cut freeform in order to both maximize my rough and because I like stones which allow for more creative jewelry!
